Interislander's three ferries - the
Arahura, Aratere and the Kaitaki, offer a convenient, regular daily rail and
commercial freight, car and passenger service crossing Cook Strait - a 30
kilometre stretch of water separating Wellington on the North Island and
Picton on the South Island.
The 92 km, three hour journey between Wellington and Picton is one of New
Zealand's most iconic tourist experiences, and one of the most spectacular
cruises in the world.
Interislander ferries offer a range of on board facilities for you to enjoy as
you view of some of New Zealand's most unique scenery. Enjoy a movie, a drink in
the bar and anything from a snack to a three course meal.
A nursery, comfortable passenger areas and lounges with reclining seats with
head rests, plenty of open deck space, children's play area and an
Information Centre.
Crossing time is 3 hours for all ferries.

The Bluebridge ferry service operates two 136 metre 'Roll On/Roll Off' ships
each with four vehicle decks for 150 vehicles, 2 passenger decks for 400
passengers, using computerized navigation and ship stability equipment, to make
crossing Cook Strait a safe and enjoyable experience.
Our
onboard services provide our passengers with a taste of warm and friendly 'Kiwi'
hospitality. The comfortable and relaxing lounge areas mean passengers can watch
a free big screen movie or sit back, relax and enjoy the journey.
